"Beach Ware"

The last in the series for Romania, for the February Virtual Paintout. Found these wares for sale on Strada Tineretului, Costineşti, România. Wonder how many buyers want the float on the bottom of this pile? Why did I choose this specific group? I wanted something colorful, simple in design, yet still interesting or different, therefore I selected these out of all the busyness on this street. If you'd want to see this on Google go here. It may take a few seconds to bring up the Google map, so be patient. You can see how I extrapolated and adapted this scene to this composition. This is 11 1/4" x 15", watercolor on 140# CP Arches.
Technique Tip: To make colors sizzle, put complementary colors next to each other as in CadScar and Ultramarine Blue. Another way, underglaze with yellow, then put CadScar overglaze. When the highlights are lifted, the yellow (which is staining and doesn't "lift") will make CadScar glow as in the lobster float above.
