A departure from a painting. Wanted to share this particular incident. Took this photo this past week at Pickity Place which is in the mountains west of us, in the woods, down a long dirt road, and very popular spot for many who go to enjoy their gourmet herbal luncheons (We ate in the Garden Room as pictured in the photo on right at the Pickity's link above). They have numerous cats on location and they have the run of the grounds and the gift shop (not the dining area, though.)

Marjoram, called Mary for short, (she has a brother named Sage) finds this place the best. It's in the sun among all the quaint goodies of the PP Gift Shop where the herbs are hanging overhead to dry, the handmade soap is strung, the sun is warm, & her world is hers to survey. Carefully she moves among the merchandise, not moving a thing out of place to get to her spot high up in the window. It was neat to watch her thread and weave her way thru all the objects. The brokeh gives a hint of the cute little Pickety Place eating establishment, but where else would Mary find interesting movement than in the sun and watching nature strike a pose outside. Soon as the sun moves on, so does Marjoram.
What a sweet kitty and great photo. May you have a wonderful Christmas! God bless.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo of a most interesting establishment with a catchy name! I love it! Perfect names for the cats also! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHave a Merry Christmas and a healthful creative new year!
The gray cat's name is Sage and his sister (the black one) is Rosemary just FYI. http://www.boston.com/travel/articles/2004/06/06/a_fairy_tale_place/
