On the beaches of Ipanema are a myriad of vignettes. This scene caught my eye as being a little different from all the other hundreds of scenes along this stretch of inviting beaches. A Google scene for November's Virtual Paintout-Rio de Janeiro.
Technique Tips: I love the diagonal of the sidewalk and the flowing design of it. I didn't try to let the design peter out on either end because I feel this way, the viewer retains the idea that these sidewalks continue on and on and on. Because of the strong bright reds in the center, I feel the eye is drawn there immediately and then the viewer can in a somewhat circular fashion travel around to the other interesting points of view in this scene. Coming back to the reds after "visiting" all the different things of interest going on here, the viewer has a satisfied "adventure" and is ready now to enjoy the design elements.
